“I’m not dead”

“What?”

“Nothing. There’s your ninepence.”

Been busy/lazy/resting my wrists lately. Quick catchup on books:

  • Marley and Me: Wonderful. Hilarious and touching (not an adjective I often use.) Plus, it’s gives me solid evidence to point to when Sue misbehaves: “See, Heather, there are worse dogs out there.” Honestly, it helped me realize that while Sue’s behavior has gotten better, there’s only so far she can go. She is, on some level, just plain old crazy and I can deal with that.
  • The Dog Whisperer: Very helpful. More than “advice” or “tips,” Cesar Romano will throw your entire relationship with your dog(s) on it’s head if you let him. He’s very direct in pointing out the obligations we take on when we bring a dog into our house and the expectations we should have in return. That being said, it’s important to keep one thing in mind when reading/watching Cesar: the guy’s a fucking freak of nature. His natural talent with dog’s is akin to Pujols’s ability to hit a baseball–it can’t be taught to mere mortals.
  • The Stupidest Angel, Christopher Moore: A silly book that’s a quick read. No more need be said.
  • I’ve started the 2nd volume of the System of the World series, The Confusion. Is completely engrossing a redundant phrase?

Maybe what I needed to start my business was an unsolicited customer. Lazy ass.

Brock tonight!
