An Inconvenient Truth

I’ve yet to see the film, but I will sooner or later. One quote from Lawrence Lessig’s article in Wired stuck with me:

An “inconvenient truth,” Gore says, is one we hold “at arm’s length because if we acknowledge it and recognize it, then the moral imperative to make big changes is inescapable.”

Perfect. I immediately thought of the realm of animal rights, where the term I’ve always leaned on is “willful ignorance,” which sounds more pejorative but has an identical definition.
